Many of us are selling our homes or are getting ready to do so. I keep looking for signs of recovery in the real estate market. I want it to happen sooner than later. Or, at least, I want to see the tide turning to positive. It isn’t happening, NOT AT ALL. The Case-Shiller data (economic indicators used to predict upturns and downturns) that came out Tuesday noted that we have reached a NEW LOW in housing prices.
We have very low demand for housing, great loan rates (but the loans are hard to get), and unemployment. You name it, we’ve got it. Not to mention the thousands and thousands of houses on the market that no one is buying.
Unless you can hold onto and maintain your property for 10 years or more, you need to act now. Be proactive in selling your home. Why? Home prices are falling, it’s an economic fact.
So what do you need to do to sell your home fast? First, it needs to be in “move-in” condition to get top dollar. If it’s not, and you don’t have the money to get it remodeled, then price it at a discount. Home buyers are looking for great deals, which means steep discounts in sale price. And home buyers who want a
“move-in ready” home also want a deal. They want to know that they are buying the nicest home in the neighborhood, but not paying the highest price for it. It’s all about price, folks. So, you may have to bite the bullet and price it to sell. The longer your home sits on the market, the more likely you are going to have to lower the price to keep the buyers looking at your home.
